The live production is being reimagined into a two-hour arena show, with:

- dazzling, intelligent lighting heightening the visual experience beyond the screens and around the arena, running in sync with the footage
All net profits from the Our Planet Live in Concert will be donated to WWF’s global Our Planet education and awareness initiatives.

About Steven Price, composer
Steven Price is an Academy Award®-winning composer. In 2014, his groundbreaking score for Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity garnered awards wins in the “Best Original Score” category for the Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Critics’ Choice, and ASCAP’s first-ever “Film Composer of the Year” award. Price won his second BAFTA Award for The Hunt (2015), a landmark natural history documentary series for the BBC. For his work on Our Planet, Price received Emmy nominations in the “Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary” and in the “Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music” categories. Steven Price will be hosting Our Planet Live in Concert.
About David Attenborough, narrator on screen
David Frederick Attenborough’s broadcasting career spans six decades. He has played an extraordinary role in both reinventing and developing the medium of television, and in connecting people to the wonders of our planet, bringing distant peoples, animals and habitats into living rooms across the planet. As a BBC producer and executive, he has played a crucial part in creating new forms of programming and scheduling that to this day influence global broadcasting. His work includes many iconic productions such as Life on Earth, The Living Planet, The Trials of Life, Life of Mammals, The Blue Planet, Planet Earth, and Frozen Planet. Our Planet Live in Concert will include new on-screen narration by David Attenborough.
About Lisa Hannigan, vocalist
Lisa Hannigan first came to light as a somewhat mysterious figure singing harmonies alongside Damien Rice. They played together for seven years, but it wasn’t until the release of her solo debut Sea Sew that the full spectrum of her abilities became apparent. Lisa has since been stretching her musical expertise, collaborating with artists as diverse as Ray LaMontagne, Herbie Hancock and Glen Hansard. She made an acting debut in the Oscar®-nominated Song of the Sea, and her haunting voice featured on soundtracks for the TV series Fargo and the Oscar®-winning score for Gravity, all the while founding and co-hosting the acclaimed Soundings podcast. Lisa Hannigan will wow the audience with her incredible voice, accompanied by a 66-piece live orchestra.

What is Our Planet Live in Concert? What can I expect to see?
Our Planet Live in Concert will present highlights from the ground-breaking 8-part Netflix original series released in April 2019, with brand new original on screen narration from legendary broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. Spectacular natural world footage, featuring some of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth, will be accompanied by live orchestral music with a unique surround sound system to fully immerse you in the wonder of our planet. This unique event will be hosted by the series composer and Academy Award® winner Steven Price, alongside a 66-piece orchestra and vocalist Lisa Hannigan. It is a breathtaking natural history live experience not to be missed!
What makes Our Planet Live in Concert stand out from a usual film in concert?
Our Planet Live in Concert truly is an event:
The Our Planet footage, shot in stunning 4k using the latest in camera technology, will be showcased on three large, razor-sharp screens. Alongside, a live orchestra will perform the powerful and moving original musical score, complimented by incredible surround sound. The atmospheric lighting will fully immerse the audience in the show, no matter where you are sitting.
Audiences will feel like they are fully taken in by it. Three large screens will provide video footage from across the series, in a narrative that is exclusive to this live event, interspersed with live camera direction of the orchestra and soloist performances. A huge quantity of smart lighting fixtures will extend the visual experience throughout the arena. Add a sound system that surrounds the audience with effects from 36 positions and nature will be as close as it can get.
Will all of the Our Planet episodes be shown in full length?
Our Planet Live in Concert is a compilation of the greatest moments of the series telling the story of the one home we all share in a brand-new way. The show will feature some of the best moments from all eight episodes in the Netflix series, which feature diverse habitats around the world – from the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and jungles of South America. The total duration of the show will be approximately 120 minutes.
What kind of music can we expect to hear during the show?
The Our Planet series has a magnificent soundtrack composed by Academy Award®-winning composer Steven Price. The best excerpts from the soundtrack will be performed LIVE by a 66-piece symphony orchestra, and vocalist Lisa Hannigan, alongside the incredible footage shown on the big screen; Steven Price will also make a special live appearance in the show.
What is the spoken language during the concert?
The event will be presented in its original language (English), narrated on screen by the world-renowned broadcaster and naturalist, David Attenborough. The on-screen video footage will include subtitles in the local language.
Will there be a break during Our Planet Live in concert?
Yes, the musicians need a little breather. After about 1 hour there will be a 20-minute intermission. The second part of the show after the intermission will last for another 60 minutes.
Will any of the proceeds go to WWF?
All net profits from the Our Planet Live project will be donated to WWF’s global Our Planet education and awareness initiatives. These include providing a wealth of educational materials for schools and young people, based on the series, with the aim to inspire and motivate the next generation to protect our planet.
Our Planet is a collaboration by Netflix, Silverback Films and WWF that showcases the world’s rarest animals and most precious natural habitats, aiming to bring a new understanding of our planet and why nature matters to audiences around the world.
